GIANT ASPEN FALLS ON DECK

High winds brought down a big aspen. Expert sawyers Tom and Martin skillfully removed it, amazingly with no damage to the deck or cabin.

28 images 1. The tree fell over the deck, but was arrested by the 2 aspen on the deck.

2. Alas, it was one of the 2 trees holding the swing, a favorite of children of all ages.

3. The tree miraculously slotted between the 2 deck trees, which arrested its fall.

6. The stage is set for the arrival of Martin and of Tom and family (wife Sharon and daughters Katherine and Elizabeth).

27. After lunch we all skied up into the forest on one of the loops that Martin and Bill had cleared a few weeks ago. Martin took these pictures of the skiers on the thin snowcover.
